Parent-led software is not school enrollment
NovaPath builds consulting and custom software for schools. A parent-facing tool is still software — not a seat in a classroom, and not enrollment in a school.
Families and school leaders sometimes hear “education software” and picture a school. That mix-up is understandable. It is also worth clearing up before anyone shares our work with a colleague or a caregiver.
NovaPath Education is a consulting and custom software practice. We work with K–12 and charter teams on the systems around teaching, coaching, and operations. We are not a school. We do not enroll students, assign classrooms, or stand in for a school’s admissions process.
Two different relationships
A school enrollment decision belongs to a school or program. It creates a student–school relationship: a roster, a teacher of record, and the responsibilities that come with that.
Parent-led software is a tool a caregiver might use at home. It can support practice, organization, or a learning activity. It does not create a classroom seat, a membership in a school, or an enrollment record. The adult remains the adult. The school, if there is one, remains the school.
If a parent asks whether NovaPath is “the school,” the accurate answer is no. If we build something a family uses, that product is software. If we build something a campus uses, that work is still a partnership with the school — not a transfer of the student relationship.
Why the distinction matters
School leaders are often the people who introduce a partner to a peer. A useful referral starts with a clean sentence:
- NovaPath helps schools think through a problem and, when it fits, build software around the work.
- A parent-facing tool is not an offer of placement, and it is not a substitute for the school’s program.
- Credibility comes from a clear workflow and a conversation — not from implying that a child has “joined” something they have not.
That framing protects families from a false promise and protects school teams from having to undo a story they never told.
A question worth asking any partner
Who owns the student relationship? For NovaPath Education work, that answer stays with the school. Software can hold notes, observations, or practice. It does not enroll anyone.
